前作に続いてボブ・ブルックマイヤーとのコラボ・アルバムで、こちらもヴレッジ・ヴァンガードでのライブ。
ほぼ全編が旧来の型にはまらない前衛的オーケストレイションの作品ばかりで、演っている方も聴いている方も緊張感の連続で疲れそうですね。
スタンダード・ナンバーの My Funny Valentine もリチャード・ロジャースが聴いたら困惑しそうなミステリアスな前衛作品風アレンジで、元メロディーはかろうじて少し顔を出す程度ですので言われないとこの曲だと判らないかも。
